Drs. Doug Henderson and Tom Haney who met at Emory University founded Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. Originally dedicated to the focus of sports medicine, the medical practice has grown to meet other orthopedic needs, but the goal of providing state-of-the-art care to injured athletes is still of utmost importance. The clinics work with the local communities and promote volunteering with such organizations as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Florida A&M University Athletics, Florida State University Athletics, and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.
For the last four years, the Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic Foundation has been providing education and resources to the community in order to promote health and wellness. Conferences and seminars focusing on preventing and recognizing common injuries are conducted for the coaches of local sports teams and other sports agents. One of the current activities of the Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic Foundation is to implement a Concussion Management Program in the local high schools utilizing specialized Impact Concussion Software. The TOC Foundation's focus is to prevent injury and promote rehabilitation through education.
